months and knuckles

my classmate just showed me this cool trick to remember how many days are in each month, u use ur knuckles and the spaces between the knuckles and each one is a month (so like ur 1st knuckle is january, then the space between ur 1st and 2nd knuckle is february, ur 2nd knuckle is march, etc)

so each high point is 31 days and each low point is 30 days (except for february obvs)

and it got me thinking like why do all the months switch between having 31 days and 30 days except for july and august which both have 31 days. isnt that kinda weird lol????

i hope this makes sense, it sounds really stupid when i type it out >-<
